Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat!

Halloween isn’t my favorite holiday, but I do really enjoy it, and more so since I have Monster J as an excuse to dress-up and go trick-or-treating again. Tonight we’re going with Wowee and Cindy and Cindy’s family in Rockwall. I will post pictures later.

In the meantime, here are a few sites of really awesome pumpkin carvers and such that I stumbled upon that I thought everyone might enjoy. Happy Halloween!

Extreme Pumpkins – this guy runs this free website and holds yearly pumpkin carving contests

Bumpkin Pumpkin – from England, this person carves tons of pumpkins yearly and holds a viewing for donations to a charity

Sand Demon – this guy does sand sculptures and craves pumpkins yearly also

It’s the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

I don’t ever remeber carving a pumpkin. I know that I’ve been around while my family did, but I haven’t ever had one I could call my own.

Last week I bought 2 enormous pumpkins from Sam’s and Thursday Wowee and I decided to have a pumpkin fest.

First let me say, pumkin guts – EEEEWWWW!!!!!

Monster J was VERY interested in all the messy business.

And I do mean VERY interested. Leave it to him to want to actually eat the pumpkin. Blech.

The final product, a bat.

She thinks my pumpkin has an “O” face.

But I like it just fine.

And so I present my first ever, carved all on my own, pumpkin.

So what do y’all think? Good pumpkin? “O” face pumpkin? Send me pics of your carved pumpkins, I’d love to see them.

(I’m a dummy and forgot to take pics with them lit up at night so I will post those later.)

Jump SPLAT Jump SPLAT

Yesterday Monster J and I went to the mall. I planned on only returning some stuff, but really how many shopaholics do you know who can go the mall without buying anything? On the bright side, Operation Christmas Shopping 2007 is now underway. Julian got some really cute shoes (finally dark blue!) and Grease Monkey got a few things. I also found out that Monster J is now wearing a size 8. What!?!?!?!? EIGHT!!!!! That means that he only has 2 sizes left before I have to start buying youth sizes, not toddler. SWEET JEEBUS! I thought I had at least a couple more years left, but at the rate his gigantic feet are growing I’ll be shelling out $50+ per pair by next Christmas. Sheesh.

Before we left I went to Starbucks to get my usual, which was thankfully very delicious this time, and as we’re walking out I look down and there is coffee all over the stroller. So I keep watching the coffee cup as we’re walking, and sure enough, my coffee is jumping out of the lid. Not spilling, jumping - litterally leaping out of the cup, about an inch high. Now I knew Starbucks was special, but I didn’t know their coffee could jump. We keep walking and jump SPLAT jump SPLAT jump SPLAT all over the stroller. AHA! I knew there was some crack-like substance in their coffee! How else would you explain liquid being so hyper as to resort to jumping out of the cup? Huh? Huh!? You’re caught, Starbucks! I’m on to you now.

Help! I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up!

I was leaning on the child proof gate that blocks the kitchen trying to lift the lid of the washer, while holding Julian, and BAM! the gate breaks and down we go, straight onto my knee. It hurt so bad I couldn’t even cry.

I was going to call Daddy at first because I wasn’t really sure if I was seriously hurt and, say “Help! I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up!” because (A) He’d think it was pretty funny (B) He’d probably be the only one that would get the joke (C) It was true. Then I realized DUH! I can’t freaking get up to get the phone. So there I lay, moaning and groaning with Julian sitting beside me (unhurt by the way) looking at me like I’m a crazy person.

So now the side of my knee is about twice it’s normal size and looks like a really ugly mixture of green, red, and purple finger paints. Awesome.

I joo

First off: rant. I hate that my computer is down at home and I can’t post this stuff immediately. For some reason I can’t write a post from my phone. I can do anything else on this website, except post a blog. Weird.

Anessa has started watching Julian every other Saturday so she and Daddy can spend more time with him. I went to their house to pick him up. As I was loading him in the car, he was giving me hugs and kisses and said, “I joo! I joo! I joo!” I got all teary-eyed, looked at Anessa and said, “Did you hear that!?!? He’s saying “I love you”! Did you hear him? Did you hear him!?” Best.Day.Ever.

Finally!

First off let me say… the Kodak EasyShare camera – not so easy! While it is user-friendly and fairly simple, it is not easy! I don’t call searching through a FAQ page for 10 minutes, not finding what you’re looking for, searching for drivers, and finally downloading software for another 30 minutes – JUST TO UPLOAD PICTURES, mind you - easy.

Anyway – rant over – I have added a couple of new pages, some pics and updated my “about me” page.

And now I have to actually get some work done. Boooo! =(

My Last Name Is NOT Flinstone!

Dear Higher Beings,

You are aware that Bam-Bam was, in fact, a cartoon character and was in no way meant to be turned into an actual human being, right? So could you tell me how I ended up with the Bam-Bam reincarnate? If you could just get this little problem fixed ASAP, I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much!

Love, Me

A love-hate relationship

I am extremely picky. I mean REALLY, REALLY picky. I expect things to be a certain way, especially if I’m paying for them. If I go to a restaurant and order a steak, that steak that just cost me $20 better be damn near perfect or I’m sending it back. Which brings me to…

Starbucks. I love Starbucks (as you can see from my myspace page). Starbucks and I have been best friends for almost 10 years now. When I have a headache, I’m tired, cranky, sad, happy, or whatever, Starbucks has always been there for me. The smell and taste of that delicious, instant energy juice is all I need to brighten my day.

I have gone to the same Starbucks for years now. They know me in there by name (though mostly they screw it up and call me Janelle but at least it’s close) and drink. They also know the people I work with as “Hey, you work with that Venti White Mocha girl, right?” (sad – yes, I know). But lately, it just hasn’t been the same. My drink is no longer delicious and the people just don’t have great customer service skills. My drink should be sweet but not over-bearing and definitely not bitter. It should be hot, not luke-warm or cold. The employees should not argue with me and tell me I “must get extra pumps” when I, in fact, do not. I love the White Mocha just the way it comes, but the problem is they just don’t know how to make it anymore and they argue with me, when the customer is obviously always right, DUH! =)

I know what a White Chocolate Mocha is supposed to taste like, and every time I go in there and give them my $4.76 it better taste like it’s suppose to, or I’ll send it back! My record is 4 remakes, thus far. I love my Starbucks and I don’t want to have to start going to a different one because my regular spot is starting to suck, but 20 minutes to get a good cup of expensive ass coffee is getting a bit ridiculous.

Still alive and kickin’…

sort of, anyway. I’m still alive – but the kickin’ part not so much. I am so. damn. tired. It’s been a crazy busy week, and I didn’t even realize it had been so long since I’ve posted.

Wednesday night Phatboy and I ate dinner at Pancho’s while Julian stayed at Daddy and Anessa’s house for a little visit. I really don’t care for the food there much, but the sopapillas… oh jebus I think i could live off those damn things.

Thursday I got a pedicure with my mom, which Julian immediately sabbotaged by stepping all over my toes with those monstrosites he calls “tootsies” (feet) and “papos” (short/slang for zapatos – shoes in spanish). We had endless shrimp at Red Lobster (which I highly recommend you go eat before it’s over!) and it was mmm, mmm, good! Then we went shopping at the mall and my mom bought me a beautiful keychain. Stars, YAY! I almost bought some shoes (pair 1pair 2) but decided against it. I may still go back and buy them, though. =) BTW – I’m looking for a pair of dark blue tennis shoes for Julian, if anyone finds some really cute ones lemme know!

Last night, Phatboy took me to a Stars game, with some badass seats, but unfortunately we lost in overtime to the Calgary Flames. =( Bastards! All in all, it was a lot of fun, but that’s why I’m so damn tired. I didn’t get to bed until pretty late last night and I got up early this morning to go see Monster J before coming to work. He stayed the night with Phatboys parents while we went to the game.

Yeesh this is long, I guess that’s what 4 days of no blogging gets you. I’m gonna go stuff my face now. I’m hooongry!

An end to a great weekend.

I had a great holiday weekend, though I didn’t do anything holiday-ish (unless shopping counts). Saturday night Julian, Phatboy and I went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory (yummmm!) and Julian picked up about 4 girls while we were there (such a lil’ pimp – he puts his daddy to shame) though I refused to let him bring any of them home (much to Phatboy’s dissapointment).

Sunday we vegged at the house all day for the first time in I don’t even know how long, which was great. Phatboy took my truck to get aligned and it drives sooo much better! Now if I could only get him to make it stop honking whenever it feels like it, my pimpahoe would be near perfect. (Besides the grease stains and missing centercaps, but we won’t go into all that.) I cooked dinner Sunday night for all of us plus Daddy, Anessa, Frances (A’s mom) and Skylar (and niece). We had a full house, but it was fun visiting with everyone.

Yesterday Julian and I went shopping at the outlet mall in Terrell with Nana. I think Julian has found his new favorite person by the way (much to her pleasure, I’m sure). If Nana walked even 5 feet away, he would start yelling, “Nana. Nana. Nana! NANA!” so she would come back and finally the screeching would stop (much to my pleasure). Then we all went back to my house and hung out until bedtime.

All in all, a nice relaxing weekend, ending with my favorite sport, shopping! Er football, yeah I mean football. That’s what I meant, YAY COWBOYS! =)

And now here I am, at work. =(

P.S. – Phatboy apologized for what he said, we talked about it and all is well now.

P.S.S – My computer is crashed, so until it is alive again I won’t be able to post unless I’m working.
